Tailored for Trainees

The competition is a version of the well-established UEA Business and Investment Management Game, specially tailored for "companies" of graduate and professional trainees.  It illustrates how the various parts of an organisation - marketing, manufacturing (operations), R and D etc should work in harmony to achieve corporate success, and will enable trainees to improve their skills in working as a group on a project with deadlines, to which all have a contribution to make.

Companies may comprise any number between two and five individuals. Many organisations have found it appropriate to foster corporate awareness by bringing together in a company graduates from both technical  and commercial departments.

Once players have grasped the concepts of the game, about 45 minutes discussion each week will usually suffice for them to arrive at their business decisions.  Staff supervision is not required, although it may be found useful to request an evaluation at the end of the game concerning the performance of the company and the value of the competition in developing the players' business skills and awareness.
